We are a small family owned farm, comprising of Mari and Kyle Holthaus and our two children Teddy and Violet.

Over the years our focus has changed from raising hogs to raising free range chickens for their high quality eggs.  We have expanded our crops to a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. 
New this year will be a cut flower delivery route to local florist shops as well as an on farm plant and produce stand.  You will find us working hard at 3 local farmers markets and we are also active in Grown Locally.



















  Farming along side us at Kymar Acres is Lee and Kathy Newman and Anna Herzmann.  Lee and Kathy own a 20 acre farm north of Mabel, Minnesota.  Lee and Kathy, Mari's Parents, grow nearly all of the root crops as well as all of the winter squash and pumpkins.  They also do a lot of variety testing to determine quality and flavor before we put the variety into full production.

We are almost ready to start plants here too!  Lee & Kathy start a wide variety of plants for transplanting as well as the majority of the pepper plants that we use for our production peppers.



Anna Herzmann is another important part of the farm operations, she is the one you will likely see at farmers market.  All of the herb samples and herb information packets that you get every week are a result of Anna's research and recipe testing, which allows her to give you a better understanding of how to use each herb.

Congratulations to Anna on her wedding in Septemeber 2010!  Since Kymar Acres grows a wide variety of cut flowers, we were able to privde her with all of the flowers for her ceremony.  Ranging from the bride's boquet all the way down to the boutineers for the groomsman, all the flowers and fillers came from the farm.
